Lock widget

Keep it open in a small window

Open the widget

Safari (Mac): open the widget, then choose File > Add to Dock. Open it from the Dock, pick your business at the top (the Dock app remembers it), then click Turn on Dock badge and allow notifications.

From then on the window fills green, amber or red, and the Dock icon shows a red badge whenever the business is not green. No badge means all good. Keep the window open (minimised or behind other windows is fine): if you quit it, the badge stops updating.

Chrome or Edge: open the widget, then in the browser menu choose Cast, save and share > Install page as app (Chrome) or Apps > Install this site as an app (Edge).

While the widget is open and set to one business, it re-reads that business's Xero lock dates every 15 minutes (one small read-only Xero call each time), so an unlock shows within about 15 minutes. Otherwise it shows Postlock's regular check (every morning around 07:00, and again while you're working).

Toolbar button (Chrome / Edge extension)

The extension puts a coloured dot in the browser toolbar. Install it from the extension folder in the Postlock code (see extension/README.md), then paste in this site's address (https://postlock.co) and your widget key.

Widget keys are not available on the shared demo. Sign up to create one.

What the colours mean

Green: locked up to the latest period that should be locked by now. Amber: one period behind, advisers can still post, or Postlock has not been able to check recently. Red: more than one period behind, no lock set, or unlocked.

Each org's close cadence and grace days are set on its Lock history page.
